Manila Water Co. Inc. expects to complete the construction of a lift station project in Taguig by next year.
The project will deliver an additional 24 million liter per day sewage flow for the company by 2037.
The company said the P119-million Taguig North Package 4A which is part of the Taguig sewer network is undergoing project upgrades with channel interceptors and pipe-laying activities being laid out.
Manila Water said the pipe-laying works include installing wider 600 millimeter (mm) fiberglass reinforced plastic pipes with 4 to 5 meters depth used for lightweight construction; and 500 mm smaller ductile iron pipes that are for shallower depths of 2.5 meter and for long-term iron pipe sewers.
The company added upgrades being made on the Taguig North Package 4A are designed to capture the unsewered areas in Taguig North Catchment area that covers Amorsolo street, Don Bosco street and Barangay San Lorenzo in Makati City.
Manila Water also said the ongoing installation of channel interceptor and pipelaying works play a vital role in safeguarding public health of customers in Makati City and Taguig City.
