Kalibo International Airport is set to open new international destinations this month to address the increasing demand for air travel, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
Kalibo airport currently serves daily international flights to and from Incheon, South Korea, via Air Seoul that flies every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and T’way Air that mounts daily flights.
CAAP said Tiger Air will mount new flights at the airport with Taipei-Kalibo and vice versa route starting on December 29.
“These new flights will be a great success and will help to further enhance the attractiveness of the airport as a leading transportation hub to the Visayan region,” Manuel Antonio Tamayo, CAAP director general, said in a statement.
Tourist hotspot Boracay Island is also located in Aklan where Kalibo airport is located, CAAP noted.
