GMA Network Inc. yesterday said it kept its dominance in nationwide television ratings in 2021.
Citing latest data from Nielsen Philippines’
TV audience measurement for total Philippines for full year 2021, GMA said it registered a net reach of 95.7 percent with an estimated 83 million TV viewers nationwide.
GMA was the most watched channel in total Philippines for the said period with 46 percent people audience share.
Per major area, GMA said its net reach was 95.6 percent or 54.4 million viewers in total Luzon; 96.4 percent with 16.4 million viewers in total Visayas; and 94.9 percent with 12 million viewers in total Mindanao.
Across dayparts in the said areas, GMA recorded an average of 48.4 percent total day people audience share in total Luzon, 41.6 percent in total Visayas, and 41.3 percent in total Mindanao for 2021.
The network’s second free-to-air channel GTV also kept good ratings, making it the second most-watched station in the country next to flagship station GMA.
From November 1 to December 31, 2021, GTV recorded 11.6 percent people audience share in total Philippines, which surpassed TV5, its closest competitor, with 10.4 percent. – Myla Iglesias
