E-wallet integrates crypto, digital banking

PLDT Inc. mobile wallet PayMaya has rebranded to Maya, an all-in-one mobile app that combines e-wallet, crypto and digital banking, as it moves beyond payment.

Last Friday, the company also officially launched Maya Bank just over six months after it secured a digital banking license from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in September last year, as it powers Maya platforms across the consumer, enterprise and agent networks.

The new Maya app seamlessly integrates digital banking services powered by Maya Bank, such as savings and credit, with PayMaya’s e-wallet and other features like cryptocurrency, micro-investments and insurance.

For consumers, the new Maya app offers convenient features that make handling money easier and more rewarding. These include Maya savings, a high-yield savings account with a 6 percent introductory interest rate, and Maya credit, a virtual credit line with initial starting credit of up to P15,000.

It also has Maya Crypto, a seamless crypto feature that allows customers to buy, sell and hold crypto for as low as P1, and the Maya wallet that allows customers to send and receive money instantly, buy load and other digital assets, pay bills as well as cash in for free at over 90,000 touchpoints nationwide.
