Bakers are raising prices of Pinoy Tasty by P3 per loaf and Pinoy Pandesal by P1.50 per pack effective February 1.
Pinoy Tasty will cost P38 per loagand Pinoy Pandesal, P23 per pack.
The Philippine Baking Industry Group (PhilBaking) said flour prices have climbed to P1,000 per 25 kilogram bag from P955 late last year and P690 in August.
Every P50 increase in prices of flour translates to P1 increase in the price of bread.
PhilBaking said the cost of other ingredients have also gone up, a including LPG, sugar, cooking oil, margarine and fats.
The bakers said local flour mills have sent notice the price of flour could go beyond P1,000 per bag based on global forecast.
