On March 20, 2024, at SMX Manila, the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2) hosted its 4th Energy Efficiency Day 2024 Conference, focusing on the “Global Call to Double Energy Efficiency by 2030.”
This event, now in its fourth year, aims to promote energy efficiency as a key driver of the economy, coinciding with the fourth anniversary of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act.
PE2 president Alexander Ablaza and Informa Markets’ country general manager, Rungphech Rose Chitanuwat, emphasized the importance of energy efficiency. Representatives discussed strategies for enhancing energy efficiency impacts, including Ambassadors from the British and Danish Embassies.
Experts from Schneider Electric Philippines, the Board of Investments, and J.G. Summit Holdings Inc. shared insights on achieving net zero energy consumption and integrating energy efficiency into business strategies.
Panelists from various sectors exchanged ideas on how to meet the global challenge of doubling energy efficiency, representing organizations such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Concepcion-Carrier Air Conditioning Company (CCAC), and Daikin Airconditioning Philippines.
Executive director Raul Villegas outlined the importance of energy efficiency in the National Climate Change Action Plan on behalf of the Climate Change Commission (CCC).
PE2 vice presidents Ruth Yu-Owen and Theresa Acedillo-Lapuz facilitated the event, which was held alongside PhilEnergy, the country’s premier energy trade event.
