Israeli tech companies seek PH entry, market expansion, B2B partnerships

Eight Israeli technology companies are actively seeking out opportunities to operate or expand in the Philippine market, citing the country’s large consumer base, skilled workforce and strategic position as a gateway to Southeast Asia.

During the Philippine-Israel Cybersecurity Business Forum in Taguig on Tuesday, representatives of the companies presented products and services they plan to roll out locally.

The eight companies are BlueVoyant, MADSEC Security Ltd., BATM Networks, Vicarius Inc., Device Total, Reblaze Technologies, Memcyco, and Sasa Software.

Ofek Venecianer, economic counsellor and head of the Israel Economic Mission to the Philippines, said in a press briefing that four of the eight companies are new entrants, while the other four are seeking to expand their existing presence.

“They really understand the potential in the market and they are pushing us actively to assist them in entering,” Venecianer said. “I can also see it the other way around with Philippine entities and agencies from both the private and public sectors.”

Venecianer added that part of their strategy is to establish a permanent business office in the country.

“We don’t just come and sell our solutions. We really build long-term partnerships and relationships, and we hope that one of the fruits of this partnership will be opening an office here,” Venecianer said.

Following the forum, the companies held business-to-business sessions with potential clients to explore local deployment of their solutions.

Donald Lim, president and chief operating officer of DITO CME, said his company is actively looking for cybersecurity partners to expand its “cybersecurity-as-a-service” offering.

“We act as an agency business,” Lim explained. “We look for groups who are looking for cybersecurity solutions and we bridge that gap.”

He noted that DITO CME connects clients, primarily from the private sector but also from the government, with cybersecurity solutions that include blockchain services and hardware.
