Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) will voluntarily recall 8,365 units of 1997 to 1999 Accord, CR-V and Legend models as part of a precautionary campaign concerning Takata airbag inflators.
HCPI in an advisory said the affected models’ Takata front driver side airbag inflators may have a tendency to rupture upon deployment due to excessive internal pressure, which may result to serious injury to the vehicle’s driver.
Covered by the voluntary recall are 6,889 CR-V models 1997-1999; 1,474 units of Accord models 1998-1999 and two Legend units, model 1998.
HCPI said affected customers may avail of the airbag inflator replacement in any of the 38 Honda Cars dealerships nationwide.
